Brilliant weekend of singing at the 28th Inishowen International Folk Song and Ballad Seminar in Ballyliffin from 24 to 27 March.

Thanks to Sean & Elizabeth Donnelly for inviting Maurice and me to perform at their lovely Gallery Folk Club. A super evening all round!

Delighted to say my first album ‘Waves of Time’ released by Claddagh Records in 1982, is now available for download from Amazon Music and iTunes. I bypassed the CD moment and have made the leap straight from vinyl to download! I recorded it with the late, great Shaun (Mudd) Wallace in Homestead Studios, Co. Antrim. My brother Frank Cassidy features on guitar and bouzouki and Joe McHugh plays uilleann pipes. The great Italian pianist Antonio Breschi performs my version of Shaun Davey’s ‘The Brendan Yoyage’ with me, which I turned into a song. Maurice took the wonderful cover photo as well as playing the Indian Harmonium. Other friends like Paddy Finney and Gerda Spence feature.

Maurice and Jane are delighted to be invited to perform at The Gallery Folk Club, Newcastle by Sean Donnelly on Sunday 12th March.

A fantastic 2 days of singing was had! Let’s hope it’s the first of many. Thanks to An Droichead, ITMA, Belfast Trad, The Ulster Museum, The Linen Hall Library, The Sunflower Bar, The Arts Council NI and The Arts Council Ireland for making it all possible, with particular congratulations to Claire Kieran of An Droichead for organising it all.

We had a super night at the new Rostrevor Folk Club with friends old and new. Thanks to Seth Linder who made us so welcome and Colum Sands for introducing us. It’s a gem of a folk club!

Jane and Maurice’s new albums ‘Silverbridge’ and ‘The Tern and the Swallow’ are now available for download from iTunes and Amazon Music.

Jane and Maurice launch their new albums, ‘Silverbridge’ and ‘The Tern and the Swallow’ at The Duncairn Centre, Antrim Road, Belfast with a host of musicians. Their daughter Anna joined them on backing vocals and piano and Jane’s brother Frank Cassidy was on bouzouki. Barry Carroll played hammer dulcimer, Joe McHugh and Jaff Piobaire played pipes and whistles, Ciaran O’ Kane was on accordion and Conor Caldwell on fiddle. Both albums were recorded and co-produced by Rod McVey who joined Jane and Maurice on stage on keyboards. Maurice and Jane would like to thank the Arts Council NI for their support in the making of these albums.
