Belfast City Hall and the ICTU commemorate the centenary of the Dublin Lockout of 1913 by commissioning Jane Cassidy and Maurice Leyden to tell the story of the 1913 Dublin Lockout and the Belfast Dockers’ Strike which preceded it through words and music, using the songs and ballads of the day to tap into the lives of the men, women and children of the slums, as they embarked on a David and Goliath struggle with their employers. Jane and Maurice are joined on stage by Barry Gleeson, Nollaig Casey and Rod McVey.

Jane and her brother Frank Cassidy perform together for the first time in many years at the Folk Club Reunion at the Ulster Bank Belfast Festival at Queen’s. Keeping it in the family Maurice Leyden is joined by his and Jane’s daughter Anna Leyden to perform at the Folk Club Reunion gig at Queen’s University.
Maurice Leyden gives a series of 5 singing lectures, north and south of the border entitled ‘In Search of the Raw Bar 1952-55’, to celebrate the BBC NI Traditional Song Collection of Peter Kennedy and Sean O’Boyle.
